“We’re excited to have John Houston and the Legends of Rock,” Bumbleberry Theater owner Stan Smith said. “If John’s in the house, you know you’re in for a night of fantastic entertainment.”

Tickets cost $15 per person and are available to purchase by clicking here.

Featuring the music of Styx, Journey, Foreigner, Aerosmith, The Who, Led Zeppelin, REO Speedwagon, The Doobie Brothers and many more, Legends of Rock is the ultimate tribute show to the very best of rock ‘n’ roll from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. The band is comprised of five guys who love to rock and do it well – they’re all professional musicians with decades of recording and touring experience.

Bandleader and keyboardist John Houston has performed in Gladys Knight’s Saints Unified Voices choir and is currently involved with seven bands, four of which tour across the United States and Canada. He also serves as music director for the Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert, Arizona, and owns and operates a recording studio as his “day job.”

A former Southern Utah University vocal major, Houston is a distinguished studio engineer, session keyboardist, and touring keyboardist and bassist. He’s also the inventor of the “Houston Rocket,” a strummable electric clavichord that produces a unique and memorable sound.

Between studio work and live performances, he stays busy year-round and has made a living as a self-employed musician since 2004. Houston has been recorded on over 1,000 songs and can also be heard on radio ads throughout Southern Utah on a daily basis.

On lead vocals and guitar is Luke Randall of “American Idol” fame, who played hundreds of shows as the house guitarist for “Piano Man: A Tribute To Elton John and Billy Joel” at The Mosaic on the Strip in Las Vegas. Randall is a gifted guitarist, pianist and vocalist with several albums of his own originals under his belt, not to mention an exciting showman.

Rick Houston, who serves as lead guitarist and also offers vocals, has provided entertainment for private and corporate parties for decades, playing guitar and singing in multiple rock and country bands throughout Utah, Nevada and California. His extensive musical background reaches all the way back to his childhood, when he learned to sing harmony by the age of 6.

Originally trained in classical guitar, bassist Joe Costello holds a doctorate of musical arts from Arizona State University and has taught music to students of all ages for over 30 years. Along with playing in various bands, he shares his love of music as a studio teacher and musician at Costello Family Music in Sahuarita, Arizona.

Rounding out the lineup is Dutch Workman, an exceptional studio drummer with a background in traditional jazz. He has played live in front of thousands of screaming fans with artists like Eric Dodge and Tom Matz and contributed his talent to hundreds of recordings.

“I anticipate that this will sell out,” Smith said. “If there’s one concert out of everything we’ve done this year, this is the one you need to see.”

Heading up to Springdale for the weekend? Tom Bennett will also be playing at the Bumbleberry Theater on Friday, July 26.

Bennett has become a fan favorite in Southern Utah with his entertaining blend of outlaw country and blues. Essentially a one-man band, he tours nationally and also co-founded the Colorado City Music Festival. The show starts at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.
