Aug. 16, 1978 – April 15, 2024

Charles Royal Hunt, beloved husband, loving son, proud father, and friend, passed away on April 15, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.

Charlie was born on Aug. 16, 1978, to his loving mother, Jana Burningham, and his bonus father, Craig Burningham. The moment he entered this world, his warm spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hunt; his daughter, Summer Hunt (Jackson); and the soon-to-arrive granddaughter, Bexley Evans (expected this July). He also leaves behind his bonus daughter, Jazmine Deherrera (Lucio); bonus son, Isaiah Arredondo; and his granddaughter, Zia Torres, who all held a special place in his heart and everyday life.

He is also mourned by his sister, Amy Hunt and her children, niece, Makaylie (Chelsey) Davis, great-nieces Paizlee and Maci Davis, Marissa Davis (soon to be joined by a new baby niece in August), and Maddy Davis, as well as his nephew, Easton Davis. His sister Tina (Jim) Hunt and her children, nephews James (Shaylene) Jennings and Kason (Tara) Jennings are mourning his passing. Charlie’s family extended beyond blood ties, and he will be deeply missed by all.

In the embrace of eternity, Charlie will be beautifully reunited with his precious son, Jordan Charles Hunt, who departed this world at the tender age of five months on September 11, 2002. He will be welcomed into heaven by his loving grandparents, Royal Kay Hunt and Gai Graff Hunt, who will greet him with open arms upon heaven’s doors.

Throughout his life, Charlie touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His commitment to his family was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.

In addition to his family, Charlie had a passion for the great outdoors. He found solace and joy in the mountains, where he could often be found camping, fishing, hunting, hitting trails, and off-roading with friends. Charlie enjoyed a nice glass of whiskey and some good old feel-good music around a campfire. He cherished moments away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, relishing in the tranquility of nature and the company of loved ones.

Charlie was known for his outgoing nature and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Everywhere he went, he somehow found a way to connect with people, whether through shared interests or mutual acquaintances. His warm smile, beautiful eyes, and infectious laugh endeared him to all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A viewing will be held in honor of Charlie on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, located at 288 West St. George Blvd, St. George, Utah.

A graveside service will take place at Tonaquint Cemetery, located at 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.

Following the services, a Celebration of Life will be held at Highland Park, located at 1250 North Highland Parkway, Washington, Utah 84780 at 6 p.m. for family and friends will gather to honor Charlie’s memory, share cherished stories, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched so many hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to his wife Leslie’s Venmo account in hopes of covering the expenses of the sudden loss of her husband.

Charlie Royal Hunt will forever remain in our hearts, his memory a beacon of light and love for all fortunate to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.

Until we meet again, my dear Charlie, you will be with me in my heart, my memories, and the gentle mercies God continues to show me. I don’t want to say goodbye, so I will say until we meet again. I love you.
