ST. GEORGE — If you want to learn more about local communities, services and activities, the city of St. George will host three Neighborhood Open Houses this year at various locations throughout the city

These open houses run from 5-7 p.m. and give community members an opportunity to interact with the city’s elected officials and staff, according to a news release. The dates and sites are as follows:

March 28: SunRiver St. George
Sept. 26: Vernon Worthen Park
Oct. 24: Mathis Park

“Each year I look forward to connecting with our residents and discussing our shared vision for the future of St. George,” , said Mayor Michele Randall, who originally announced the dates during her Feb. 13 State of the City address. “Neighborhood Open Houses provide a comfortable setting to talk to elected officials and department heads, where you can learn about things that interest you in St. George.”

There is no formal agenda at a Neighborhood Open House. Attendees are invited to mingle with city officials representing a variety of departments and divisions, including: planning and zoning, public works, water, energy services, leisure services, police, fire, golf, human resources, economic development and more.

“There will be information on a variety of topics available for people of all interests,” added Randall. “Check out some of the trails, parks and recreation plans we will be implementing in the coming years. Find out what roadways are planned, and the progress on current projects. And our public safety departments — police and fire — always have cool giveaways for youngsters.”
