Emergency personnel were dispatched to reports of a vehicle rollover at the intersection of SR-9 and 6300 West at approximately 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Taj Eldredge told St. George News at the scene that the incident involved two vehicles, one that ended its journey flipped over.
The trooper said a GMC Acadia was turning westbound on SR-9 at the 6300 West traffic light when it struck a Toyota Corolla also driving west on the highway. The incident occurred when the driver making the turn “crossed the solid line.”
Along with UHP, Hurricane Valley Fire District, Hurricane City Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the scene, where bystanders watched from the lawn of nearby apartments.

Eldredge said the driver of the GMC Acadia was cited for improper lane travel and the Toyota Corolla had to be towed from the scene.
“No injuries reported. Everyone is OK,” he said. “The (GMC) crossed the solid line and collided with the (Toyota) — making an improper lane travel violation — which caused that vehicle that came through the light to flip onto its top.”
This report is based on statements from court records, police or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
