ST. GEORGE — What goes around, comes around for the Utah Tech women’s basketball team.

A day after raining down a season-high 21 3-pointers in a win over Oregon, Utah Tech managed an 8-of-24 effort from downtown and fell to Oklahoma State 87-61.

Utah Tech (7-5) shot 37.3 percent from the Burns Arena floor a day after blistering the Ducks to the tune of 49.3 percent.

Meanwhile, the Big 12’s Cowgirls (7-3) shot a blazing 53.1 percent overall in their win over Utah Tech.

Center Hannah Gusters had her way with the Trailblazers in the paint, scoring a game-high 27 points to lead four Cowgirls in double-digit scoring.

The Cowgirls also outrebounded the Trailblazers by a 43-28 count.

Maddie Warren was the first of three double-digit scorers for Utah Tech. She netted 18 points including four 3-pointers.

Breaunna Gillen put up a line of 16 points, six rebounds and two assists for Utah Tech, and Macie Warren contributed 13 points including a 7-of-8 showing from the free-throw line.

Oklahoma State will look to win the inaugural round-robin tournament against Oregon at Burns Arena on Thursday at 2 p.m. 

The Trailblazers get a 10-day holiday break and next play in their final non-conference game at Florida International Saturday, Dec. 30, in Miami, Florida.
