Denton Bruce Bauer, age 76, sadly passed away on Aug. 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bruce was born on Feb. 7, 1948, to Mary Augusta Casey and Denton Ashdown Bauer in Cedar City, Utah.
Bruce spent his early years in Cedar City until he relocated to Peabody, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Peabody High School. Bruce served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, he attended and graduated from Merrimack College with a degree in business. Bruce spent his career filling different positions in the field of retail. After his retirement, Bruce enjoyed many adventures atop his beloved motorcycle.
Bruce is survived by his son Denton James Bauer and his wife Stephanie Bauer, of Salt Lake City Utah; daughter Kristen (Bauer) Nunes and her husband John Nunes, of Saugus Massachusetts; his grandchildren Braden, Dominic, Samuel, Camden and Kayla; his sister Holly (Bauer) Chandler and her husband Norm Chandler, of St. George Utah; former spouse and friend Ruth (Cacciola) Bauer, of Danvers Massachusetts; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Denton A. Bauer and Mary A. Bauer; his infant son Denton Bruce Bauer Jr. and his sister Rose Marie “Penny” (Salvo) Cimon. He will be greatly missed by all.
A small graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Cedar City Cemetery, 685 N. Main St., Cedar City, Utah. In lieu of flowers consider donating to The Wounded Warrior Project, which was a cause close to Bruce’s heart.
