CEDAR CITY — A man was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle rollover in a remote area of Iron County on Thursday morning.

Iron County Sheriff’s Lt. David Mitchell said the incident occurred on a dirt road north of Lund and involved a 1995 Nissan pickup truck with a 39-year-old male driver as its only occupant.

Shortly after 6 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the area after receiving a report of a personal injury accident along Blue Mountain Road, Mitchell told Cedar City News.

“It was reported the vehicle rolled and the adult male driver sustained head and back injuries,” Mitchell said. “Once deputies arrived, they tended to the driver’s injuries and attempted to keep him warm.”

The driver was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Cedar City Hospital. The man was reported to be in stable condition as of Thursday afternoon, Mitchell added.

“It was determined the vehicle crashed and rolled due to the snowy conditions,” he added.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.
