The incident occurred when the blaze began at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor Marina at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

“Interagency personnel responded immediately to extinguish the fire and it was contained within hours,” National Park Service public affairs said. “Authorities are currently investigating the cause. Approximately 15 boats were damaged or destroyed by the fire.”

Boat owners of vehicles potentially damaged have already been notified of damages by Las Vegas Boat Harbor Marina staff.

Although the marina remains open to the public, park officials issued a partial area closure of the harbor’s R and I Docks, as the investigation remains ongoing.
