Dec. 4, 1954-June 18, 2024

Gail Lynn Bailey, 69, of Washington, Utah, died on June 18, 2024.

Born in Edmonds, Washington, in 1954 to Glenn and Barbara, Gail was the most middle of middle children, sandwiched between two brothers, Mike and Dave, and two sisters, Jenny and Teresa. Gail attended Granite Falls High School and shortly after graduating met the man who would become her lifelong love, father to her children, and primary target of her sharp verbal barbs.

She was a mother of infinite patience — right up until she wasn’t. Grace was never her middle name and telling her to calm down was an act of reverse psychology guaranteed to add fuel to the fire. Gail loved her pranks, loved teasing and being teased, gave as good as she got, and was the single worst singer in the history of humankind. Birthday songs from Gail were a punishment of her love that everyone received and couldn’t be ignored or avoided. She spoiled her grandchildren rotten, smothered her family with love and raised her hellion children solo for weeks and months while her husband sailed the seven seas.

Gail was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, her father and passed alongside her lifelong partner and husband Joe. She is survived by four children and eight grandchildren.

Services will be private and will be announced to friends and family. Donations to the Family’s GoFundMe would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements are under the direction of McArthur Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 160 West 700 South, St. George, 435-652-2844. Family and friends are invited to click here to sign Gail’s online guest book.
