ST. GEORGE — Conditions will be windy in Southern Utah and across much of the state Saturday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory.

The event runs from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and impacts Washington, Iron and Beaver counties, with specific mention made of  Beaver, Cedar City and Milford, according to a weather service news release.

Southwest winds of 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. A few power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult due to crosswinds, especially for high-profile vehicles and vehicles with trailers. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects,” the alert said.

St. George: A 20 percent chance of showers after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Breezy, with an east wind 8-13 mph becoming southwest 17-22 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Saturday night will bring a 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Breezy, with a southwest wind 20-25 mph decreasing to 8-13 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Cedar City: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 53. South wind 13-21 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Saturday night will bring rain showers likely before 9 p.m., then rain and snow showers likely between 9 p.m. and midnight. Snow showers likely after midnight. Some thunder is also possible. Winds could gust as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70% with ew snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Beaver: A 30 percent chance of showers after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 58. Breezy, with a southeast wind 9-14 mph becoming south southwest 17-22 mph in the afternoon. Rain showers likely before 9 p.m., then rain and snow showers likely between 9 p.m. and midnight, with snow showers likely after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. South southwest wind 8-18 mph becoming north-northwest after midnight.
