On Sunday, March 3, at 6:17 a.m. MDT, Venus in Aquarius will form a square with Uranus in Taurus. While square aspects create tension, they also shake up what’s been stagnant and kick us into action. Without squares, we might fall into the comfort of complacency. Friction creates change, and that’s exactly what this week’s energy is all about.

In the fixed signs of Aquarius and Taurus, this influence can cause some stubbornness. But ultimately, Uranus, the planet of abrupt change, seeks to realign us with our true authenticity, while Goddess of Love Venus guides us with compassion and diplomacy.

This is a time when unexpected events or circumstances test the stability of relationships. A need for freedom increases. If a relationship has grown stale, it will be more challenging to look away from the truth, opening opportunities to revive connections or move forward in a way that serves each person.

This connection spurs spontaneous action and a simmering desire for excitement, novelty and a break from the norm. Attraction tends toward the zany or unusual. Rebel-without-a-cause energy could proliferate.

So what does this mean for you? Find out below.

The Venus-Uranus connection highlights possible tension between the affection you have for friendships and future goals and how you value yourself, dear Aries. While Venus’ influence likely has you feeling a little more emotionally detached, Uranus draws your attention to what’s tangible. If you’re feeling devalued, especially in terms of friendships or associations related to your future, further destabilization could occur this week that prompts you to take action.

April 20-May 20

With your ruling planet Venus caught up in a powerful connection with Uranus this week, tensions surrounding career, reputation, identity and physical vitality could arise now, dear Taurus. While Venus in your 10th house adorns you with plenty of charm and charisma in the public eye, you could be feeling disconnected from your true authentic self. This could bring about an underlying tension around others who you may feel don’t see the real you. The challenge now is to stay true to yourself and lean into your eccentricities.

May 21–June 20

While Saturday will see your ruling planet entering a sociable part of your sky, you’re likely to feel the impacts of the Venus-Uranus connection first, dear Gemini, and for you, it’s all about beliefs. On one side, Venus in your sector of philosophical outlook has you longing for adventure; on the other side, Uranus has been working to overhaul your subconscious mind and uproot what no longer serves you. In some ways, this could feel like a battle between the heart and head, wherein lies some dissonance. The best approach is to surrender and allow yourself to change your mind.

June 21–July 22

For you, dear Cancer, this Venus-Uranus connection spotlights themes of intimacy, shared resources and personal power and how it relates to friendships and future dreams. With the eighth house being one of emotional depth and the 11th house being known for emotional detachment, it could be that you are feeling emotionally unstable this week. Your longing for deep connection may be overwhelmed with overanalysis, which creates a feeling of being outside looking in. This also could have to do with someone else’s desire for emotional intimacy that for now is at a standstill.

This week could have you feeling some tension between matters related to career and relationships, dear Leo. It may be that you’re having to face some confrontation or conflict in the workplace that is wearing down your usual jovial disposition. It would be best not to take things personally and exercise compassion and compromise when working with others. This also could be about your reputation. It may be that someone spreads a rumor or portrays you in a way that isn’t true. Don’t feed into the hype, just carry on being yourself. Another way this could play out is that your career is pulling your attention away from a partner causing some temporary conflict.

Aug. 23–Sept. 22

With your ruling planet Mercury changing signs this week, you’re entering a transformational time that could see you focusing more on matters of intimacy, shared resources and passive income, dear Virgo. But first, the Venus-Uranus connection spotlights your sectors of daily routine and philosophical beliefs. It may be that your habits reach a boiling point this week, and you recognize the dissonance between your daily life and the convictions existing at the center of your core. As someone who is deeply in tune with your body, pay attention to what you’re feeling. If something doesn’t feel right, take the appropriate steps to feel better.

With your ruling planet Venus caught up in this week’s major connection with Uranus, you’re likely to feel this influence more, dear Libra. For you, this is happening in matters related to creative joy and the balance of give versus take. It may be that you feel an inability to express yourself that causes some emotional distance from someone you love. On one hand, your desire for fun and romance is heightened; but on the other, you want to immerse yourself in the depths, which causes some inner conflict. You want to be out, but you also want to be alone. And because of this, whichever way you choose, you’ll either feel like you’re on the inside looking out or the outside looking in. Be open to what presents itself now, as it may hold the key for a breakthrough.

Oct. 23–Nov. 21

In the angular fourth and seventh houses, this Venus-Uranus connection could feel particularly difficult, dear Scorpio. It’s your home life and your relationships that come at odds now. It may be that you need to have a conversation with a family member or someone with whom you live that may feel slightly uncomfortable. But this is needed to effect the change that likely has been needed for some time. Perhaps there is an imbalance in household chores or your inner security is being tested in some way. The only way through is through. Having the conversation and being open to compromise is the pathway toward resolution.

Triggering the mercurial third and sixth houses, this Venus-Uranus square could uproot issues surrounding communication or transportation and how it relates to your daily routine, dear Sagittarius. For some, this could manifest as a roadblock that disrupts your ability to get from A to B. For others, this is about communication lost in translation. If you receive an influx of information, it would be wise to read it with a critical eye. This influence also could manifest in terms of an issue related to work or health and needing to have a more detailed conversation to find a remedy.

Dec. 22–Jan. 19

It could feel that you have one foot on the ground and the other in a fantasy world this week, dear Capricorn, as this Venus-Uranus square is triggering aspects in your chart related to the material world and what brings you joy. Uranus moving through your fifth house in recent years has been upturning what you deem to be fun. Perhaps once-loved hobbies have now fallen by the wayside, and new interests have taken their place. But at odds with Venus in your second house of money and self-worth, you may be realizing how you are blocking your own joy through self-limiting beliefs, such as thinking that you were just someone who was born to be alone. It’s time to listen to your heart.

Of all the signs, you may be the one who feels this week’s square the most, dear Aquarius. This is because your ruling planet Uranus, which has been redefining what home means for you in recent years, is squaring up with Venus in your sign. Themes of identity, physical vitality and inner security may come into conflict now. Perhaps you feel you are not being heard within your family or that you have to hide a part of yourself to get along. But now you’re reaching a point where you can no longer hide behind the mask. In many senses, home means something beyond a physical shelter; home is what roots us to ourselves, a place of peace we can rely on during times of upheaval and duress. If you’ve lost touch with this place, it’s time to reconnect.

Feb. 19 – March 20

With the Venus-Uranus square triggering your sectors of communication and hidden matters, it could be that a secret comes to light this week, dear Pisces. Or it could be that you decide to unveil something about yourself. Either way, what’s exposed now is meant to help you bring closure to a situation and restore faith that the road unfolding ahead is meant to benefit your growth. Dreams are likely to be active and could also be a place where you receive an important message. For several years, Uranus has been pushing you to change the way you communicate, and with its connection to Venus in your 12th house of the subconscious, you could see a major breakthrough now.
