In a 4-0 vote with council member Lance Anderson not available due to illness, the council passed an increase in the solid waste fee, from $1.95 per month to $2.43, that is included in the overall Ivins city utility bill
There was no comment from any council member, but Ivins City Manager Dale Coulam said the fee is entirely based on how much it costs for the city to receive services provided by the Washington County Solid Waste District.
“Our fees are supposed to be cost-based,” Coulam said. “The costs for solid waste collection went from $1.95 to $2.43.”
The increase is effective immediately.
