May 30, 1982-March 17, 2024
Laurie Eileen (Standage) Amos, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in St. George, Utah. Laurie was a resident of Enterprise, Utah, for the past 10 years, and she filled her life with teaching her children and serving those she loved.
Born May 30, 1982, in Mesa, Arizona, to Melvyn Richard and Edith Victoria Standage, Laurie graduated from Mesa High School in 2000 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and Child Development from Arizona State University. She started her own eternal family with Brian Joseph Amos, marrying him in the St. George Temple on Dec. 23, 2002. It was clear to anyone who knew Laurie that she was devoted to her family, spending much of her time homeschooling their four children and doing everything she could to bring her family together. Laurie made every person she interacted with feel the love of Christ, especially children.
She decorated her home with inspirational messages from the scriptures and church leaders. Laurie loved music and was an accomplished pianist and violinist, and served for several years as the organist for her ward in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a devoted daughter of Christ, she also served as her stake’s Young Women’s secretary, a Sunday School teacher, a Primary teacher and a nursery leader; but her favorite was Primary pianist.
Laurie is survived by her husband Brian and their children, Hannah (Enoch) Noffsinger, Victoria, Charlotte, and Daniel; her father, Richard Standage; and her siblings John (Anna) Standage, Richard (Gayle) Standage, Paul (Tammy Pocock) Standage, Tina (John) Bushman, Julie (James) Turner and Jeff (Tracy) Standage. Laurie is preceded in death by her mother Vickie (Brito) Standage, with whom Laurie shared a strong attachment and who was surely the first to welcome her to the other side.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate and honor Laurie’s life during the viewings on Friday, March 29, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, March 30, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 80 S. Center Street, Enterprise, Utah. A funeral service will follow Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Enterprise City Cemetery.
