Martha Floyd Shouse Abrahamson was 84 years old and passed away on Dec. 30, 2023, in her home in St. George, Utah. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 4, 1939. She is the second daughter of Lyndsey Rudolf Shouse and Ruth Mann Shouse; her sister Nedra Lynn passed away only a few weeks earlier in the year.
Martha is a loving mother of three sons and two stepdaughters, including raising one granddaughter. Martha married her second husband Phil Abrahamson on Dec. 8, 1979, and resided in St George for many later years. Her husband Phil passed away only one week later Jan. 7, 2024, in St. George.
With the help of her loving father, she converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the middle of her life as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served and endured in the love and counsel of Jesus Christ for the remainder of her days. She loved her home and cared for her cats, her husband and all of her family, she also loved serving in the St. George temple. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons Michael (Camie) and Mark; two stepdaughters Diana (Bruce) and Marnie (Michael) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her middle son David Aldridge and grandson Michael Aldridge Jr.
Her family would like to give special thanks to Canyon Home Health and Hospice for the great care they provided for Martha in her difficult times.
A viewing will be held at Metcalf Mortuary on Friday, Jan. 12, at 9 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m. at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
