ST. GEORGE — A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 500 North and Bluff Street Friday night, St. George Police confirmed on its Facebook page.
Northbound Bluff Street currently is closed between 400 and 600 North, and one southbound lane is closed.
According to the St. George Police Department social media post:
Obviously, we need you to stay away from this area and avoid it. Please respect the situation and let us do our job safely without distraction. We also ask that you refrain from all criticism and wait for more information. This will be an active investigation with the St. George Police Dept. Accident Reconstruction Team leading the investigation.
Friday night’s incident occurred in essentially the same location as a fatal pedestrian-vehicle crash earlier this week
St. George Police Sgt. Tyrell Bangerter told St. George News that shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Bluff Street and North 500 West on a report of a crash involving a female pedestrian who was struck by a pickup truck.
The woman was reportedly struck while crossing Bluff Street, the sergeant said, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Accident Reconstruction Team was on site again to investigate Friday’s fatal incident.
No further details were available. This is a developing story.
