ST. GEORGE — Led by Kate Walker’s sizzling 5-under-par score of 66, the Crimson Cliffs girls golf team won its second straight Region 9 match on Thursday.

Playing at Southgate Golf Club in St. George, all seven teams posted improved scores from the previous week. Snow Canyon, Dixie and Desert Hills all dropped 50 strokes or more off ast week’s team score.
Crimson Cliffs posted a team score of 349, edging Cedar by a single stroke. The Reds were led by RaeLee Johnson and Breelle Evans, who each shot an 85, with teammate Taylyn Wilson close behind with an 88.
Crimson’s Lexi Leavitt had the fourth-best score of the day with a 79, while teammate Brynlee Bandley finished with an 85.
Walker posted a total of seven birdies in 18 holes. She almost chipped in an eagle on the ninth hole, but the ball stopped inches from the pin.
Next week’s match is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, at Sky Mountain Golf Course in Hurricane.
