Robert S. Bogaski, age 84, was born April 20, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George Bogaski and Bernice Hussman. Robert died Friday, May 10, 2024, from injuries he sustained, with 30% of his body sustaining third-degree burns.
He is No. 4 of his six siblings. Robert has one surviving sister, Carol Schone (Roger) of Houston, Texas. His brothers Donald, Jack, Bernard and Richard preceded him in death. He married Carol D. Oster of St. Louis on June 10, 1995, in New Bern, North Carolina. Previously he was married to Zara Gonzales Pollo of Mexico City and mother to his children.
He left St. Louis the day after he graduated from high school to enter the Air Force for four years. He started a career in computers and worked for Texas Instruments in several cities, then was self-employed, designing programs for the oil riggers of Oklahoma. Robert had a love for baking since childhood, so he changed careers in his mid-40s to make artisan breads – specializing in sourdough. You can enjoy Robert’s recipe still at the French Bakery in St. George. Tell Mitch you’re a friend of Robert.
He is survived by his six children: Robert Jr. (Annete), Zara, George, Anna Mongoli (Andre) and Diana Bogaski. Blessed with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
