Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Josh Johnson said the incident happened near mile marker 94 a few miles north of Glendale.

Johnson said the semi driver was heading southbound when he drifted off the roadway to the right, then overcorrected to the left side, tipping the trailer onto the roadway.

“It landed on its side, blocking the entire highway,” Johnson said. “I know the fire crew was getting a few cars around on the edge a little bit, but it was fully closed. The whole road was blocked.”

No injuries were reported.

Both truck and trailer appeared to be totaled in the crash. As for the frozen perishable cargo, Johnson said he’s not sure whether any of it was salvageable.

Traffic was able to move through again once the wreckage had been cleared from the road.

The scene was fully cleared sometime between 5:30 and 6 p.m., approximately two hours after the incident happened, UHP reported.
