Sheri Laird passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on July 26, 2024, in St George, Utah, after a massive stroke.
She was born in Ogden, Utah, on April 16, 1962, to Floyd R Dansie and LaRue Liddell Dansie, the youngest of three children. She grew up in Layton, Utah, and graduated from Layton High School in 1981. She was so proud to make the honor roll in her senior year.
She was living in Evanston, Wyoming, with her parents when she met the love of her life, Kent E Laird. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on Feb. 11, 1984. She has served in many various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always enjoyed serving others throughout her life.
She had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh by dressing up in costumes and wigs. She would always keep her bowling friends laughing and they loved her for it. She enjoyed listening to a variety of music like movie soundtracks and the oldies.
Sheri always had a positive attitude and a great outlook on life. She loved her Heavenly Father and Savior and spent every night reading and learning from the Scriptures.
She loved her two children and family members. She was always willing to support them in any way she could. Sheri appreciated her dear St George aunt and cousins. She loved and appreciated them so much for all they did for her.
She is survived by her son Rory Laird of Rifle, Colorado; daughter Cheryl Laird of St. George; mother LaRue Dansie of St George; sister Shirlene Dansie McCairns of Roosevelt, Utah; and brother Kent Dansie of Layton, Utah.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kent E. Laird.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Roosevelt Memorial Park, 400 West Highway 40, Roosevelt, Utah 84066.
