Davis took 16th place in the triple jump and Labra secured 12th in the mile run nationally. With these results, both athletes also secured Track & Field Second-Team All-American awards.

“Isaiah and Astley made it to the highest level at the NCAA,” Thunderbird coach Eric Houle said. “They walked out as second-team All-Americans; what an excellent season for them and the program.”

On Friday, Labra finished the mile run prelims with a time of 4:00.67, good for 12th place in the event, in front of competitors from Drake, Boston College, and Furman. In Saturday’s triple jump final, Davis took 16th place with a distance of 49’09.00″, just behind athletes from Northern Arizona and South Carolina.

With the Indoor season complete, Thunderbird Track & Field will now look ahead to the Outdoor season starting up at the end of March.
