The Haven at Sky Mountain is throwing a party on Thursday, Aug. 1, to celebrate both five years in business and five consecutive gold medals from Best of Southern Utah voters. The community has won the assisted living category every year since 2020, which co-owner and director Brad Oliverson said is a tremendous honor for their entire staff.
“The first word that comes to mind is gratitude,” he added. “I’m grateful for our staff, who always go above and beyond to take care of our residents. It’s a team effort.”
Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., attendees can learn about issues relevant to seniors and their loved ones from a variety of engaging speakers. Topics include end-of-life planning, healing with food, medical marijuana, pharmacogenomics, dementia and brain changes, Medicare, mortgages, wills and trusts, senior fraud, financial planning and more.
Guests can also enjoy live music and line dancing with local country star Eric Dodge from 3-4:30 p.m., as well as delicious food and fun activity booths. Click here to view and save the event flyer.
“We’re celebrating, but we also want to give back and share what we’ve learned,” Oliverson said. “These are topics that we’re very passionate about, and we want people to be aware of some of these things that can help improve the lives of seniors.”

Nestled in the scenic Hurricane Valley, The Haven at Sky Mountain welcomes seniors who are opening a new chapter in their life’s journey with premier assisted living services. Residents enjoy a spacious open floor plan with plenty of common areas, elegant restaurant-style dining from a gourmet chef and large bay windows that let in an abundance of natural light. Spectacular vistas accent the dining patio, vegetable garden and fishing pond.
There’s a wide variety of amenities to choose from, including a putting green, pool hall, game room, craft room, hair salon, movie theater and full-size gymnasium. Additionally, the staff provides myriad daily life enrichment activities and entertainment options, like weekly outings to Zion National Park and Snow Canyon State Park.
The Haven at Sky Mountain also encompasses a 12-apartment memory care facility with a Montessori program for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The care program focuses on people-centered activities to stimulate the senses and promote physical, emotional and social well-being.
“We’ve been blessed to have some of the most amazing residents,” Oliverson said. “It’s been amazing to get to know them and the impact they’ve had on the world.”

Each of the two-bedroom, 1,400-square-foot units features beautiful mountain views, high ceilings, a full kitchen, a laundry room, covered porches in front and back and an oversized single-car garage with storage space. Thoughtfully crafted to meet the needs of seniors looking to downsize and more fully enjoy their “golden years” in a carefree environment, the villa complex also has its own clubhouse, pool, pickleball courts and pavilion.
Being locally owned and operated makes all the difference, Oliverson said. The founders of The Haven at Sky Mountain stay involved with the community’s day-to-day operations as well as the residents themselves, having spared no expense in creating an active retirement lifestyle with care and support that makes it truly feel like home.
“We’re not too big, we’re not too small; you just feel like you’re part of our family,” he added. “We take pride in what we do, and the love and care we have for our residents filters down from our leaders through all of our staff.”
