CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — From the early days of dial-up to the future of fiber, InfoWest has evolved, adapted and remained on the cutting edge of internet technology in Southern Utah. Taking care of customers has been the company’s core focus from the start, and they don’t plan on changing that anytime soon.

“We’re focused on providing the best speeds we can along with taking care of our customers in whatever way they need to be helped,” said Zack Friedman, support operations supervisor for InfoWest in Cedar City. “We’re still a local company, and we’ve been here a long time.”
Why should Southern Utahns choose InfoWest?
The “Internet People” at InfoWest are committed to creating the ultimate connectivity experience one customer at a time. As Southern Utah’s hometown internet provider, they’re big enough to get you the speed you need yet small enough to care about every community they serve.
InfoWest helps customers stay on the cutting edge with residential and business internet plans offering speeds up to 2 gigabits per second. Unlike many internet service providers, InfoWest offers symmetrical download and upload speeds for seamless streaming, gaming, video chatting and more. And with no data caps or bandwidth metering, you get exactly what you pay for.
“We were Southern Utah’s first internet company,” Friedman said. “We just celebrated our 30th anniversary, and we have customers that have been with us since the start because we’ve kept our promise to provide fast internet with reliable service at affordable prices.”
Why does InfoWest prioritize customer service?
Technology has evolved by leaps and bounds since InfoWest brought the internet to Southern Utah in 1994, but the company’s leadership team still believes in the golden rule of customer service. They believe that doing the right thing matters, and they care about you because they’re your neighbors.
“At the end of the day, we just want you to be happy,” Friedman said. “If you don’t call in, that’s a great thing. But when you do call in, we’ll do our best to help you with whatever you need.”
There’s no substitute for the connection you get from a homegrown business, and InfoWest sets a lofty standard for local internet service providers. The company took home a handful of elite honors in the 2023 Best of Southern Utah contest, including a second consecutive gold medal for customer service.
What does great customer service mean to you?
InfoWest was founded by tech visionaries and entrepreneurs committed to following the golden rule. They believe that people still want one-on-one customer service, and they know that doing the right thing matters.
For InfoWest, great customer service is two-fold. First, they provide high-quality internet, home security and VoIP service so you don’t have to worry about staying connected. But if something does go wrong, you can call your local customer support team and they’ll promptly get you back online.
“I had a call a while back where an older lady needed some help getting her new iPad online,” Friedman said. “I walked her through the whole process and it took a bit but we managed to get it going, and the next day she brought me cookies.”

InfoWest manages offices in St. George, Cedar City, Richfield and Overton, Nevada, with friendly, local support technicians available by phone 24/7. But customer service goes far beyond answering calls and solving problems, Friedman said. Although the work of InfoWest’s team members is vital to keeping Southern Utahns connected, they also get involved in their local community in a variety of ways.
Along with creating jobs, InfoWest is proud to provide scholarships, donate backpacks for students and sponsor and volunteer at numerous community events all year long. The company also strives to educate and inspire the next generation of tech leaders by sponsoring Kids Innovate, a free STEM camp for Washington County students ages 7-12, every summer. Registration for this year’s camp will open soon.
“We love to help our local community,” Friedman said. “We love our community, and giving back is an extension of great customer service.”
