Feb. 27, 1958-April 13, 2024

Allen Niels Terry was called home by his Father in Heaven, on April 13, 2024. Allen was born in Rupert, Idaho, on Feb. 27, 1958, to Harvey and Maxine Terry. He was the youngest of four children along with Samuel, Sherie and Karen. Allen moved to Fontana, California, with his family at the age of 6. Even as a young boy, Allen was always ambitious. He began working at the Herald News at the age of 11 and continued to be a hard worker throughout his life.

Allen met his high school sweetheart, Beverly Anderson, his junior year at Fontana High. They were married April 22, 1977, in Fontana, California, and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for time and all eternity. They were blessed with three wonderful children Jeffrey Terry (Erin Riley), Rochelle Gifford (Alex Gifford) and Jessica Gubler, whom they raised in Southern Utah. One of the greatest joys in Allen’s life was spending time with his eight grandchildren — Kaleb, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Andrea, Tyler, Hadley, Ella and Colton.

Allen and Beverly started their first business Allen’s Air Compressors in 1980 in Fontana, California. After many years of success, they moved their family to St. George, Utah, in 1992, opening Toykrafters in the Red Cliffs Mall. Allen was a lifelong entrepreneur, building homes, continuing his work with air compressors, opening an online equipment store and an air/water machine company. After years of hard work and success, he retired and enjoyed spending his time traveling with the love of his life, pursuing his hobbies and spending time with family and friends.

Allen was a righteous man who loved the Lord. He served as a bishop for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during his time in California. He spent many years serving the youth of the church through scouting and young men’s programs, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of anyone lucky enough to be taught by him. For eight years, Allen and Bev were called to be the St. George Temple Christmas Lighting Coordinators, which became an anticipated family tradition. Recently, Allen and Bev were called to serve as Senior Service Missionaries at the St. George Family Search Center, where they were responsible for the young service missionaries.

Allen was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all. As a family, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his son Jeff, parents, brother and many other family members and friends. Allen is survived by his wife Beverly, daughters  Rochelle Gifford (Alex), Jessica Gubler, daughter-in-law- Erin Riley (Matt), sisters Sherie Terry, Karen McDonald (Doug), sister-in-law Judy Terry and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Terry, brother Samuel Terry, parents Harvey and Maxine Terry and his mother and father-in-law Richard and Barbara Anderson.

Viewing will be Friday, April 26, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, April 27, from 9:30-10:45 a.m., followed by the service on Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Log Lane Chapel at 115 W. 2000 S., Washington, Utah. Grave dedication following the services will be held at the Washington City Cemetery.
