Carol Wright Goddard, 92, passed away Jan. 27, 2024. She was born on Oct. 25, 1931, in Hinkley, Utah to Ianthus Wright and Alice Stebbins Wright.
Carol was raised in Cedar City, Utah, and studied at the College of Southern Utah and The University of Utah. After graduating she taught school in Long Beach, California then took a year off to teach military children in Germany. Upon her return to Long Beach, she married Donald Goddard in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1952.
Carol taught school in Long Beach for nearly 30 years. Upon retiring she and Don moved to Leeds, Utah, where together they farmed, raised cattle and had a couple of horses. Carol loved watching the ducks in her pond and had quite a collection of all forms of ducks. She loved the poetry of Emily Dickinson.
Carol is survived by her son Donald Gerald (Satomi Choy) Goddard; son-in-law Lyman Stratton; grandchildren: Matt Goddard, Dane (Dani) Goddard, Tara Stratton and Travis (Date) Stratton; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at 11 a.m., in the Leeds LDS Chapel, 75 North Main St., Leeds, Utah.
