Sept. 16, 1937-Jan. 1, 2024

Colleen (Kay) Mumford, 86, a beloved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, departed from our lives on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Kay’s vibrant spirit touched the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her.

Born to Elozia and Hugh Bradley on Sept. 16, 1937, in San Francisco, California, Kay spent her childhood in Farmington, Utah. She spent the rest of her life in North Logan and Roy, Utah. She is survived by her husband Bob Mumford, her beloved children R. Buck Cowdin of St. George, Lana Adams, Michelle Nelson, Bobbie Jo Woodmansee, Jeff Mumford, Bret Mumford and Heidi Osaka, 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings Afton (Lowell) Stevens, Norma (Steve) Smith, Karen (Jim) Garner, Penny (Nick) Rose. She is preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Elozia Bradley, two sons Jerry Cowdin and Craig Mumford, her granddaughter Erica Spencer, great grandson Grizzly G. Adamson, her sister Hulene Strong and three brothers Ben, Ted and Gary Bradley.

Kay married Robert T. Mumford, on May 21, 1966. They had six beautiful children together. They were sealed for all time and eternity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ogden Temple on Jan. 13, 2009.

Her happiness found its truest expression in the embrace of family and the joy of serving others. A beacon of loyalty, her love for her family was undeniable. One of the many facets of Kay’s remarkable character was her nurturing spirit, especially evident in her devoted care for her children and grandchildren.

Kay loved crafting. She would make blankets, pillowcases, handmade cards, and scrapbooks for her kids and grand-kids. She enjoyed gardening and had quite a green thumb.  Her garden and flowers flourished year after year due to her care and love. Her fondest memoirs were vacationing in Yellowstone with Bob. Her happiest times were being surrounded by her family. She always had a grand-baby on her lap. We hope she always knew the depth of the love she inspired and the void her absence leaves.

Join us for a memorial to celebrate the life of Kay Mumford on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m. Friends may visit the family from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  The services will be held at the Roy 11th Ward Church located at 2175 West 4250 South, Roy, Utah.
