St. George Police Officer Tiffany Mitchell told St. George News that the police report from the incident is still being completed and the investigation continued Thursday morning.

The vehicles involved were a Chevy truck driven by a 20-year-old man and a Toyota truck driven by a 29-year-old woman, Mitchell said.

“I can say that driver one (the 20-year old) was cited for failure to yield,” Mitchell said, adding that the driver did not produce a driver’s license and was cited for that as well.

The call went out shortly after 6 p.m. Traffic slowed considerably as both trucks were in the middle of the intersection after the collision.

Eastbound traffic on St. George Boulevard from 500 East to 600 East was reduced to a single lane that backed up as tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the scene.

St. George Fire Department personnel cleaned up while police officers took statements from witnesses.

When St. George News arrived on scene there were no ambulances. Mitchell said that she didn’t see any injuries reported from the incident.

This report is based on statements by police personnel and may not include the full scope of the findings.
