March 17, 1942-Feb. 3, 2024

Conceicao “Coi” Maria Guedes Heath, age 81, passed peacefully at her youngest daughter’s home on Feb. 3, 2024, in Henderson, Nevada. Coi was born on March 17, 1942, in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, to Arino Da Silva Guedes and Euredes De Araujo. Coi married Frank LaMar Heath, and they were sealed for all time and eternity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Logan, Utah temple on Dec. 18, 1967. Coi was predeceased by her husband Frank. They were married 53 years at the time of his passing on Jan. 20, 2021.

Coi was raised in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. In her early 20s, her family moved to Central America where her father Dr. Arino Guedes, an entomologist, collaborated with the World Health Organization to eradicate tropical diseases. Coi’s family moved around but while living in Honduras, they welcomed two missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, into their home, and shortly thereafter her mother, father and sister were all baptized. 

Coi moved to Provo, Utah, to attend Brigham Young University. Frank drove from Salt Lake City, where he lived with his family, to Provo every weekend for two years to date Coi; then they married.

Coi and Frank called Las Vegas, Nevada, home for many years, and they moved to St. George, Utah, shortly after they retired in 2003. They lived in St. George until Frank’s death. Coi then moved back to Nevada to live with her youngest daughter Vanessa in Henderson, Nevada. Over the last three years, she was loved and cared for by Vanessa and dearest friend and caretaker Michelle Juge.

Coi was a faithful wife, devoted mother, beloved sister and tia, and dear friend to many. 

She is survived by her children: Carson and Angela Heath of Las Vegas, Nevada; Clifton and Wendy Heath of Logan, Utah; Audrianna and Brandon Collar of Sumiton, Alabama; and Vanessa and Kent Houston of Henderson, Nevada grandchildren: Cassandra Bretzing, Alec Kruczynski, Everett Johnson, Isabelle Johnson, Tennley Johnson, Easton Johnson and Gabriel Heath; and siste: Rita Cassia Guedes.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3381 Mulberry Drive, St. George, Utah, on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. The graveside burial will be held immediately after at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 S Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
