Dec. 3, 1940-March 13, 2024

Delia Cowley Barlow was born on Dec. 3, 1940, in Richfield, Utah, to Amy Leola Nielsen and David Curtis Cowley. Delia married Truman Boyd Barlow in the St. George LDS Temple in St. George, Utah, in 1957. They were honored with eight children — five boys and three girls.

Delia enjoyed her growing-up years with her parents and siblings in Richfield and St. George, Utah. She loved spending time as a child in Kingston, Utah, with her grandparents. After she was married, she moved to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to start her family. Delia spent the majority of her life split between Las Vegas, Nevada, and Enterprise, Utah. She dedicated her life to raising her children in both of these locations. Growing her gardens, taking care of her mom, hiking the surrounding areas of the Red Cliffs, Mount Charleston, the E-hill, Flattop, Pine Valley and Cedar Mountain were all pastimes that she loved no matter where she lived.

Whenever possible, Delia loved being outdoors — alone, with her kids or accompanied by her dogs: Teddy, Puppy, CJ, Abby, and many others. She loved camping and spending time at the cabin on Cedar Mountain; she loved picnics and walks around the reservoir and down to the river. Delia spent the last 25 years living in St. George, Utah — close to her sister Elaine Canfield and daughter Stephanie Burch, who spent countless hours in service to Delia.

Delia was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her entire life, and it was a large part of everything she did.

Delia is preceded in death by her mother and father, Leola LeFevre and David Cowley; her daughter-in-law and grandson, Robin and Michael Barlow; Boyd Barlow; her sisters Amy, Jan, and Jill; and many others, both family and friends.

Delia is survived by her best and bossiest older sister Elaine Canfield; her twin brother (born the day before her on Dec. 2), David (Joyce) Cowley; her trouble-maker but always there for her little brother, Lynn (Raquel) Cowley; her children, Greg (Carolyn) Barlow, LeAnn (Paul) Dannelly, Tony (Janet) Barlow, Danny Barlow, Kurt (Jill) Barlow, Derek (Hilary) Barlow, Stephanie Burch, Nicole (Alex) Gubler; and her 25 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at noon at the Enterprise City Cemetery on Saturday, March 23.

Our deepest gratitude to Beehive Memory Care and Dixie Home and Hospice for the care and love they showed to Delia during her last two years of life. The staff and caregivers were a huge part of Delia’s life, and the family would like to express their appreciation for the genuine compassion and thoughtful care that you consistently provided to our mom. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Beehive Memory Care or the Alzheimer’s Association. Direct donations to either may be sent via Venmo to Stephanie Burch at @burchs78, which will then be donated upon receipt.
