Donna developed a love for music at an early age and became an accomplished pianist and helped other musicians through her accompaniment skills. She attended Van Nuys High School after moving to Sherman Oaks where she sang in several choirs and achieved many awards.

Donna attended Brigham Young University where she developed her aversion to cold weather and quickly returned home to Southern California and began attending beauty school. This is when she met Del Carbine who had moved to Sherman Oaks after serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Central America. After a brief courtship, they were married on Nov. 27, 1963,

Donna loved being a mother to her two sons and three daughters and a grandmother to 21 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. She continued using her musical abilities singing in the Southern California Mormon Choir for many years, directing ward choirs and producing musical productions for the youth of the church.  Her favorite church calling was playing the piano for the primary children’s singing time.

After retirement, Donna and Del lived a short time in Enoch, Utah, and Las Vegas, Nevada, before settling down in St. George. They served two missions together at Southern Virginia University and in the Louisville, Kentucky, mission office.
