The incident, which happened at approximately 4 p.m. at the intersection of 800 South and Main Street, involved a blue Honda CRV and a white FedEx truck.

Cedar City Police Sgt. Justin Ludlow said the woman driving the Honda was heading northbound on Main and attempted to make a left turn onto 800 South.

“She turned in front of the truck that was heading south,” Ludlow told Cedar City News.

The impact caused the Honda to spin around and tip up onto its driver’s side. It also struck two stationary vehicles that were stopped at the light on 800 South, causing minor to moderate damage to both.

The driver of the Honda was transported via Gold Cross Ambulance to Cedar City Hospital for treatment of injuries that were thought to be minor, including pain in her shoulder and hip.

No other injuries were reported.

The Honda CRV sustained heavy damage, primarily to its front passenger side, and was towed from the scene. The FedEx truck had relatively minor visible damage to its front bumper and appeared to be operable.

Multiple Cedar City Police officers and Cedar City Fire Department personnel responded to the scene, along with ambulance and tow truck crews and one Utah Highway Patrol trooper.

Southbound traffic along Main Street was impacted for around one hour while the scene was cleared.

This report is based on information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.
