June 13 1962-May 15, 2024

Edwin Clair Beatty, 61, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2024, in St George, Utah. He was born June 13, 1962, in Cedar City, Utah, to Clair and Helen Woodbury Beatty.

Ed grew up in his beloved city of Kanaraville, Utah, and was always happy to talk about the great people and place that it was.  He was very close to his mother and grandmother and had missed them since their passing.  After graduating from Cedar High School, Ed served his country as part of the Utah Army National Guard as a medic.

He was also honored to serve his faith as a missionary in Florida. Ed was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and wasn’t afraid to share his testimony of the power of prayer and his savior Jesus Christ.

Ed worked with Metcalf Mortuary up until his death as a mortuary assistant.  He took pride in what he did and was a loyal valuable staff member for many years, taking many trips for families all over the West Coast who had burials out of the area. He paid attention to the smallest detail and treated every family and their loved one with dignity. Families often would ask if Ed could be the one to take their family member out of town because of the positive experience they previously had with him.

Ed was very generous, kind and compassionate. He was always willing to help those in need. Everyone who knew Ed felt honored to call him a friend. He had a great sense of humor and would text out of the blue with the most random fun messages you could think of.

Ed will be missed immensely by his many friends, family and his work family. We take peace in the fact that he is no longer in pain and is at rest.

Ed was a very private person and at his request, private services will be held.
