ST. GEORGE — A debate involving the five candidates running for St. George City Council will take place Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. on the Mainstage Theatre of the Eccles Fine Arts Center on the Utah Tech University campus.

Canyon Media is hosting a live audio stream of the debate on Patriot Radio 93.1 FM and 1450 AM (click on the link for the audio feed).
The debate features incumbents Jimmie Hughes and Dannielle Larkin and challengers Paula Smith, Brad Bennett and Steve Kemp. The event will be moderated by Chuck Goode, a local political personality.
Canyon Media radio personality Carl Lamar and St. George News reporter Chris Reed will be providing commentary on the debate.
The debate is sponsored by the Washington County Debate Coalition, which is comprised of Utah Tech’s Institute of Politics, local media companies, the major political parties, interest groups and local academics. It is the coalition’s goal to help voters become informed about their choices on the ballot.
The coalition is also a sponsor of the forthcoming debate between congressional candidates Celeste Maloy of Kathleen Riebe set for Tuesday, Nov.7, also being held on the campus of Utah Tech.
