The 12th annual Run Run Reindeer, sponsored by Dairy Farmers of America, the Lifetime Store, TDS, My Team MD and Club Pilates, promises an action-packed morning of holiday fun. With Christmas music and selfie stations along the course, participants can celebrate and exercise at the same time.

“It’s a great family-oriented event,” race director Dan Aamodt said. “It’s a holiday tradition that’s just lots of fun.”

Run Run Reindeer will be held on Saturday, Dec. 23. The route begins at 9 a.m. at Ivins City Park on Main Street and loops back around to the same location. The race isn’t timed, but the top three male and female finishers will earn prizes. And new this year, magical elves will hand out a total of $200 in cash to randomly selected runners along the course.

Registration costs $39 per individual and $34 for each additional family member (up to six people). All participants will earn a T-shirt and finisher medal, and the first 500 runners to sign up will receive foam reindeer antlers as well. All entries are non-transferable and non-refundable, and the race will be held rain or shine.

Runners can pick up their registration packets at the St. George Running Center, located at 2736 E. Red Cliffs Drive #5 in St. George, on Friday, Dec. 22, from 4-7 p.m. Packet pickup will also be available near the starting line from 8-8:45 a.m. on race day.

Participants are encouraged to bring a new, unopened toy to benefit the St. George chapter of Toys for Tots. Every year, donations collected during Run Run Reindeer bring Christmas cheer to hundreds of local kids in need. A portion of every registration fee will also be donated to Toys for Tots.

Stick around after the race for swag giveaways from vendors and sponsors plus hot cocoa, donuts and other holiday treats. The four runners with the most festive outfits will earn $25 gift cards to the St. George Running Center, while the runner with the ugliest holiday sweater will win a $50 gift card.

“It’s a super fun way to celebrate the holidays before things get a little crazy later on,” Aamodt said.
