Aug. 2, 1950-Nov. 12, 2023

Marion Worthington Wright, 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023. She was born on Aug. 2, 1950, in Grantsville, Utah, to Jethro “Jeff” and Mary Worthington. She married Dennis Wright on July 10, 1970, in Grantsville, Utah, the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Marion was raised in Grantsville on her family’s farm along with her five siblings where she developed her love of animals. She was always dressing up her kitties in clothes and pushing them around in a baby buggy.

During her teen years, Marion was a proud member of the Larietts, was on G-Whiz and a member of a singing group with some of her dear girlfriends. Marion and Dennis met as children in Grantsville and were high school sweethearts. They were the proud parents of five children. The family moved to Hurricane, Utah, in 1986 where they continued to raise their family.

Shortly after their move to Hurricane, Marion began working at the Mulberry Cottage, making beautiful flower arrangements and working alongside her good friends Terry and Wendy. Marion then began working for the Southwest Utah Public Health Department where she met and helped many wonderful people while working in WIC. She retired from the Health Department after 25 years.

If you were lucky enough to have met Marion, you knew instantly what a kind, happy, spunky, caring, compassionate woman she was.

Marion is survived by her devoted husband Dennis, her children Brenda (Justin) Roundy, Kelli (Will) King, Kaci (Roger) Hill and daughter-in-law Tacy Wright, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marion was preceded in death by her sweet baby boy Clint, who was stillborn, her loving son Brandon, her mom and dad, her sister Peggy and too many other loved ones to mention.

We want to thank the staff at The Haven and Applegate Hospice for their loving care of our beautiful wife, mom and grandmother.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 9-10:30 a.m., at the Heritage Building, 1178 South 700 West, Hurricane, Utah, followed by the funeral beginning at 11 a.m.  Interment will take place in the Hurricane Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff St., St. George, 435-673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign Marion’s online guest book.
