Steven Clark Sargent Sr. transitioned to the next life in the early hours of March 12, 2024. Born March 24, 1950, in Panguitch, Utah, to Mary Edith Lynn Sargent (Hobson) and Victor Sargent, Steve was skilled in singing, guitar playing, gymnastics and in his youth, he loved riding and caring for horses.
Steve loved music. He played professionally and privately in many different locations. People of all sorts loved to hear him sing and play guitar. He collaborated with numerous other talented people including his two half-brothers. Making music was his passion for much of his life.
His children Sheri (Maxwell), Steve (Jr.), Mandy (Eames) and Barry were the lights of his life. A devoted father and husband to his beautiful forever partner Lynne, he was delighted when his family started to grow with grandchildren. First was Victoria (Eames), then Mariah, Soren (Eames) and Benrey (Eames), respectively. He was also blessed with a great-grandson by Mariah who brought Kelston Michael Wilks into the world in March 2015, Steve’s birthday month. Love for his family is forever.
Steve was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held many different titles within the church. His love of the Gospel helped him throughout his life and offered many opportunities to perform and serve.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, too many family members to count. His family hopes and believes he was welcomed by many loving members of his departed family, including his many beloved pets. His greatest accomplishment was the love of his family. He will be missed by so many who loved him throughout his life.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 16, at 1 p.m., at the Southgate 3rd Ward chapel, 1038 Chandler Drive, St. George, Utah. He elected to have his body cremated and his ashes will be buried in Panguitch at a later date.
