James Anthony Martinez (also known as Jim, Jimmy, and Mijo) passed away on Oct. 30, 2023, at 7:17 p.m. James Martinez passed away at the age of 52, in St. George Regional Hospital due to kidney and liver failure. Loved ones surrounded him as he took his last breath. James Martinez was born June 22, 1971, in Los Angeles, California, and is the son of Bert James Martinez Sr. and Teresa Marie Martinez. James Martinez was also gifted with the mother of Otilia A Martinez.

Bj, Anthony, Larry, Sandra, and Mark are the siblings of James.

James Martinez lived a large life and was the husband to Jenalee Reid, Gina Anderson and Stephanie Riding. He was a phenomenal father to eight children: Izaiah, Dustin, Chelson, Daveena, Christian, Gabriel, Bailey and Brianna.

James was a charismatic, funny, kind, patient and loving man. He was someone who loved his family, his food, Diet Coke and the Lakers. James always took the adventure whether it was camping, playing basketball, hiking, or being outdoors. He was someone who loved the sensual side of life with an easygoing nature. James was a man who loved and believed in God and was charitable with both his time and resources. He spent more than a decade working in the medical field, and planted roots by being in service to others. Home for James was in Saint George, Utah.

Many people will remember James for his smile, laughter, listening ear and memorable advice.

James Martinez was preceded in death by his brother Larry Gonzales, his father Bert Martinez Sr., and his mother Teresa Marie Martinez.

The viewing will take place at Hughes St. George Mortuary on Thursday Nov. 2. The viewing will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.

Service will be held Friday, Nov. 3, at Hughes St. George Mortuary from 10-11 a.m.

The burial will take place in Beaver, Utah, Gravesite at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3.

The service will also be live streamed for those that cannot make it in person.

All who desire to celebrate his life, are welcome to come.
