June 8, 1990-Dec. 18, 2023

KC Heaton passed on from his life on Dec. 18, 2023, surrounded by his family after a long and hard battle with brain cancer. He was born on July 8, 1990, in Ogden, Utah, and grew up in Hooper, Utah.

When KC was a senior in high school, he and his family moved to St. George, Utah, where his family still resides. KC went on an LDS mission to Billings Montana, where he made many close lifelong friends.

KC married the love of his life Kayla Volksen on Aug. 9, 2013, in the St. George, Utah Temple. They loved to travel together, especially to Disneyland.  He and Kayla have two beautiful children, whom he loved dearly, Paige Diane and Ethan Christopher.  He loved his job in the emergency department at the hospital and was part of a wonderful work family.

KC battled brain cancer for six years. He had multiple surgeries, rounds of chemo, radiation and hospital stays, all while being so positive and brave. KC is survived by his wife Kayla Heaton; his children Paige and Ethan Heaton; parents Rex and Pam Merrell Heaton; siblings Merrell (Emily) Heaton and Robin (Colin) Meeks; and multiple nieces and nephews. To know KC was to love him and to be loved by him.

We want to thank all the doctors and nurses who have helped KC throughout the years, his work family at the emergency department at St. George Regional Medical Center, and the outpouring of love, and support given by them to KC and his family.

In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at Mountain America Credit Union under KC Heaton Memorial Fund.
